The New Cool

W Magazine has its finger firmly on the pulse of fashion and modelling's hottest trends with a rough and tough pink-hued editorial feature in the July 2012 issue. Models of the moment Julia Nobis, Maria Bradley and Kremi Otashliyska pose for Craig McDean's lens with slicked back rocker-billy quiffs and a "don't mess with me" Ousiders-inspired attitude. Stylist Marie-Amélie Sauvé balances feminine chic and tomboyish allure by pairing slouchy pants, tasselled tunics and Balenciaga's must-have sculptural padded sweaters with lace-up boots and wedged heels. Fashions aside, it is Sydney-sider Julia Nobis who is the editorials standout star, featuring in close-up portraits as an aside to the group shots, and is the very embodiment of tomboyish androgyny combined with a delicate beauty that is modelling's current obsession.
