It's no secret that I am a sucker when it comes to group portraits of models. Maybe it's the idea of seeing a collection of gorgeous faces vying for the spotlight or perhaps it's observing how the pairings of various models can enhance the overall aesthetic of a shot. Either way, the following Versace campaign from Fall/Winter 2004 shot by Steven Meisel is an example of how to do it exactly right. Models of the day including Eugenia Volodina, Michelle Buswell, Maria Carla Boscono and Fernanda Tavares form posses for some serious supermodel posturing. The studio portraits pay tribute to the Revlon Unforgettable Ads of the eighties shot by legendary photographer Richard Avedon, and feature the models with co-ordinated styling, make-up and hair matched according to colour and theme.
