Suspended In Time

Supermodel Naomi Campbell returns to the pages and the cover of Vogue Italia for the February 2013 issue photographed by her friend and co-collaborator Steven Meisel. With the tag line "About Women" emblazoned beneath her, Naomi gives her best blue steel gaze which pierces straight through the camera's lens. Meisel, who first met Campbell when she was 16, captures his long-time muse in an assortment of wigs which perfectly frame and accentuate her incredulous bone structure. The cover comes right on the eve of the premiere of Campbell's heavily publicised new model reality competition show "The Face" which also stars fellow top models Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha. In an interview with Vogue Italia in 2011, Campbell revealed "The most important thing to me, really, is I trust the photographers that I work with, and I trust that they're going to transform me into something else. And so with styling by Karl Templer, Pat McGrath and Guido Palau on hand for hair and make up, Campbell ever the chameleon creates pure magic with Meisel whilst suspended in air on a gymnastic apparatus looking resplendent in looks by Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, and Calvin Klein.
