The Shape of Things to Come

British Vogue enlists Alasdair McLellan to capture pint-sized British newcomer Rosie Tapner in the season's monochromatic designs for its March 2013 issue. Shot outdoors against the simple backdrop of a white wall and concrete pavement, the shoots emphasis on silhouettes and shadows calls to mind the sculptural photographic style of the late great Herb Ritts. Rosie Tapner's natural paired back beauty is the perfect accompaniment to the black and white ensembles styled by Francesca Burns. Scouted at age 15 whilst on a shopping expedition at the Clothes Show Birmingham, Tapner was cast in back to back  Balenciaga campaigns for the 2012 season. The doe-eyed 174 cm British beauty appeared in three shows for Spring/Summer 2013, walking exclusively for Burberry Prorsum in London, as a semi-exclusive at Balenciaga and opening for Chloé. Tapner heads into the Fall/Winter 2013 ripe for the picking, having recently turned 16 and with a Spring/Summer 2013 Chloé and Top Shop campaign amping up her blue chip status.
