Dead Calm

Paris Vogue takes to the seas with Lithuanian model Edita Vilkevicuite manning the decks with photographer Gilles Bensimon in tow. Twenty-four year old Vilkevicuite is captured by Bensimon on the high seas in denim short, jeans, and jackets, paired with crisp white shirts, deck shoes, and galoshes. Vilkevicuite's natural beauty, svelte toned physique, and wild unruly hair prove to be the perfect accessories for this Summer inspired shoot. Bensimon, ever the master of outdoor photography, returns to the pages of Paris Vogue employing the use of natural elements such as light, wind, and the open seas to enhance Vilkevicuite's timeless classic beauty. Modelling since 2006, Vilkevicuite remains one of the industry's most underrated models having been fast-tracked from the Spring/Summer 2007 runways following a few short show seasons to editorial and campaign gigs for more commercial end clients in the ilk of Allure, H&M, Juicy Couture, and Victoria's Secret. Hopefully this Paris Vogue editorial marks the beginning of more prestigious high fashion bookings and a comeback at the impending Spring/Summer 2014 collections.
