What A Feeling! - Catherine McNeil

Australian modelling sensation Catherine McNeil continues her stunning comeback following the Spring/Summer 2014 collections with an editorial and feature article in the November 2013 issue of Australian Harper's Bazaar. Photographer Kane Skennar taps into the androgynous sensuality of McNeil in a shoot that is evocative of the audition scene in the classic film Flashdance. McNeil channels Jennifer Beals in thigh-skimming black ensembles from the Spring/Summer collection of high street fashion label Kookai. At age 24, McNeil is in peak physical condition and following a two year hiatus from modelling, primed to handle the stresses of modelling. "I did nothing. It was great. I moved to London and hung out... The break was needed. I'd been working a long time and everyone needs a break after a while," says McNeil in the accompanying interview of her two year sabbatical. Indeed when IMA encountered McNeil at the Oscar de la Renta castings during the Spring/Summer 2014 collections, she appeared in fine spirits and posed animatedly for IMA. McNeil amassed 36 show bookings throughout the Spring/Summer 2014 season and has wasted little time in resurfacing for the Donna Karan Resort 2014 campaign shot by Lachlan Bailey.
