Artistic Expression - Sasha Pivovarova

Russian model Sasha Pivovarova returns to the pages of American Vogue for a delightful editorial which showcases her incredible range of expression. The veteran model dons a kewpie doll wig and smiles, pouts and frowns for photographer David Sims. Fashion Editor Camilla Nickerson styles the twenty eight year old eternally youthful model in playful pleated looks from the Spring/Summer 2014 collections of Céline, Dior, Calvin Klein, Rochas, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Marco de Vincenzo. Pivovarova's student background in art history and her own budding artistic career goes part of the way in explaining the model's intrinsic ability to emote on film and to breathe life into the clothing that she wears. The Russian doll arrived on the modelling scene in 2005 on the wave of Prada's battalion of expressionless and clone-like Eastern European models. Signed to an exclusive three year Prada advertising contract during her early modelling days, Pivovarova has since emerged as one of the most versatile and enduring faces of her generation of top models appearing in advertising campaigns for Roberto Cavalli, Miu Miu, Proenza Schouler, Giorgio Armani, Rag & Bone, and Juicy Couture.
