Top 10 Newcomers F/W 2014 - Ronja Furrer

For industry veteran Ronja Furrer the path to her stellar run at the Fall/Winter 2014 collections has been paved by years of grunt modelling and an iron will to succeed. Discovered via the Elite Model Look contest in 2006, Swiss-born Furrer placed in the top 15 finalists before relocating to Paris to begin her modelling career. Furrer attained moderate success with editorial appearances for German Elle, GQ, and Marie Claire coupled by a Spring/Summer 2012 campaign slot for Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply. Turns on the runway at the Spring/Summer 2011 collections for Pierre Cardin and Reed Krakoff's Fall/Winter 2011 show hinted at Furrer's potential. A switch of representation to IMG Models in November 2013 precipitated a major overhaul and rebranding of Furrer's image in time for the Fall/Winter 2014 season. An avalanche of bookings for Rag & Bone, Altuzarra, Derek Lam, Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, and Narciso Rodriguez, unequivocally declared Furrer the most coveted "newcomer" of the New York collections. Across all four fashion capitals, Furrer blazed a blue chip trail appearing at J.W. Anderson, Burberry Prosum, Fendi, Prada, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci, Balenciaga, and Lanvin proving that incredible things do indeed come to those who wait.
