The Body Electric - Anja Rubik

Paris Vogue fuses the worlds of fashion, dance, and film for "Backstage", an editorial nod to 80's dance film classics Fame and Flashdance. Polish supermodel Anja Rubik and an entourage of trained dancers including identical twins Laurent and Terry Bourgeois are put through their paces while posing for photographer Mario Sorrenti in a magical display of athleticism, artistry, and pure emotion. Rubik looks primed for a high fashion dance-off in outfits styled Editor-in-Chief Emmanuelle Alt from the Haute Couture collections of Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Viktor & Rolf, and Zuhair Murad. The editorial delivers an element of fantasy, fun, and dramatic flair as Rubik demonstrates her prowess before Sorrenti's lens, modelling from the top of her cascading blonde ringlets to the tip of her leg warmer clad feet. The thirty year old industry veteran commands the stage whether straddling a ghetto blaster, leaning against a piano, or while caught swaying to the beat. The multi-dimensional model who is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of 25 Magazine, looks set to take her career into overdrive having recently changed representation to powerhouse agency IMG Worldwide.
