Come As You Are - Proenza Schouler S/S 16

It's no secret that Ashley Brokaw's line-up for Proenza Schouler has casting directors and designers on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the lucky few who will be given the Brokaw nod of approval for the season ahead. Brokaw's Spring/Summer 2016 selection proved to be no exception with Proenza Schouler's show opening with the ultra exclusive newcomer Selena Forrest followed by a succession runway debutantes. Discovered only a year ago by a scout while at the beach in Long Beach California, Forrest was handpicked by Brokaw to make her runway debut opening with the natural poise and calm of a seasoned veteran. With natural beauty and individuality being a major casting focus for Spring/Summer 2016, fellow exclusive Shelby Hayes and the enigmatic Damaris Goddrie adorned the runway with their unruly mop top of curls cascading for all to see. Haye's turn on the runway Proenza Schouler is all the more remarkable given that she was discovered only three weeks ago and was flown in from her native Orange County for her stunning debut.

The closely cropped hairstyles of Dominican Lineisy Montero, Herieth Paul, and Grace Bol echoed the season's predilection for a come as you are beauty with no apologies. Geeky androgynous chic was also embraced with the inclusion of unconventional blondes Ally Ertel, Steph Smith, Kerrigan Clarke, and the mesmerising former Elite Model Look 2012 finalist Chiara Mazzoleni. With New York Fashion Week done and dusted, two newcomers have emerged as  key frontrunners as London, Milan, and Paris beckon. Dutchie Vera Van Erp and tri-racial Alice Metza added to the the multi-layered beauty in full force at Proenza Schouler. Van Erp's handsome jawline, thick set brows, and melting baby blues have had casting directors in a spin while Metza's ethnic ambiguity and good girl gone bad persona have proven to be just the air of intrigue required for Spring/Summer 2016 runways.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side - Alice Metza

Muse Magazine showcases fashion's latest obsession Los Angeles homegirl Alice Metza in an editorial lensed by Richard Bush for its Fall/Winter 2015 issue. Metza's smoulders under Bush's lens displaying a compelling blend of kittenish sex appeal and tough chic. Fashion editor James Valeri has an outfit for every occasion with fur trim coats, billowing gowns, t-shirts, sheer lace skirts, berets, and plunging necklines figuring prominently. The Society Management-repped beauty debuted last season at Proenza Schouler before lighting up the runway at Prada, Iceberg, Aquilano Rimondi, and MSGM. The seventeen year old has already racked up some impressive editorial bookings with appearances in Document Journal, i-D, and Vogue Italia with Steven Meisel. Metza's ethnic ambiguity courtesy of her mixed German, Cherokee and Belizian bloodlines and good girl gone bad vibe has garnered the attention of key casting directors and designers landing her on the Spring/Summer 2016 show lists of Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Altuzarra, Victoria Beckham, Edun, Proenza Schouler, Opening Ceremony, Narciso Rodriguez, Tommy Hilfiger, Boss, and Marc Jacobs. Metza is quickly cultivating an intriguing larger the life persona with her wickedly titled Instagram account '6bubbles6erotica6' where fans can follow her off the runway antics.

Trending Right Now - Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez' Spring/Summer 2016 show set in stone the new faces that will be in high rotation as the runway antics move on to London, Milan, and Paris. Casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro's line-up included heavy-hitters Maartje Verhoef, Waleska Gorczevski, Rianne Van Rompaey, Mica Arganaraz, Sophia Ahrens, and Fei Fei Sun however it was a diverse collective of newcomers who stole the show. All American beauty Julia Fleming opened proceedings and was at the hip by look-a-like New York native Olivia Jansing who has experienced a phenomenal response since being discovered . The divine Pooja Mor has bounced back from her fall at Givenchy in fine form turning heads with her fine features and elegant runway swagger. Dominican model of the moment Lineisy Montero and Ugandan Aamito Lagum were standouts with their closely cropped hairdos and imposing beauty. Alice Metza's hard to place looks courtesy of mixed German, Cherokee, and Belizian heritage have been the object of adoration from designers and casting directors who can't seem to get enough of her sultry yet sophisticated demeanour. Fellow Dutchies Vera Van Erp and Romy Schonberger round out the cast of promising newcomers along with the unstoppable Dane Frederikke Sofie who is Mario Sorrenti's current muse. Hailing from all four corners of the globe, what all of these runway rookies have in common is a distinctly off-kilter beauty and individual allure which makes them stand out from the pack.

Berlin or Bust - Pooja Mor

Berlin occupies a special place in my heart. It was in this city with its chequered history and haunting beauty that IMA came to fruition during my three year tenure there. The freedom to express and to follow one's own individual path that I embraced in Berlin provided the impetus for me to not only change careers but to dive head first into the world of blogging and eventually casting. The über cool publication The Gentlewoman showcases the jaw-dropping beauty of Indian newcomer Pooja Mor with Berlin's focal point, for tourists, locals, and everything in between, Alexanderplatz as a compelling backdrop. Berlin-based photographer Benjamin Alexander Huseby captures the effortlessly cool Pooja as she models monochrome ensembles culled from the collections of Louis Vuitton, Victoria Beckham, Sacai, Marni, Hermés, and Céline by stylist Caroline Newell. The former engineering student from Mumbai has had a meteoric rise through industry ranks since trading in her study books via an international runway debut at Louis Vuitton's Resort 2016 show and blue chip editorial bookings for Another Magazine, Dazed & Confused, and Vogue Italia. With representation by Elite Model Management NY, Pooja is well on her way to landing a plum spot in IMA's Top 10 Newcomers list for Spring/Summer 2016 with turns on the runway at Givenchy, Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Victoria Beckham, Derek Lam, and Tory Burch.

On the Brink - Thakoon S/S 2015

Thakoon's Spring/Summer 2016 line-up veered away from the predictable with a stunning cast consisting of models on the brink, newcomers, and comeback kids. The common denominator amongst casting director Angus Munro's finely curated selection of beauties was the memorability factor of each girl. Opening proceedings with the bohemian-like vibe of Danish newbie Frederikke Sofie set the tone for a steady procession of unique and effortlessly cool beauties. Fresh faces Mathilde Brandi and Laura Julie continued the Danish insurgence while Dutchie Lauren de Graaf had show goers in awe of her pristine features and slinky runway strut. Also making their mark were the über cool Steph Smith, Marland Backus, Annely Bouma, and Isabella Emmack whose subtle androgyny and short bobbed hairstyles are helping to redefine industry standards of beauty. Ethnic diversity was well represented with Sudanese model Ajak Deng, the spectacular Grace Bol, and Asian models Dylan Xue, Luping Wang, Ji Hye Park, Estelle Chen, and Sung Hee Kim serving it up. Models of the moment Sophia Ahrens, Waleska Gorczevski, Lina Berg, Julie Hoomans, and Nastya Sten kept things current while comeback kid Carolin Loosen appears to be experiencing a runway renaissance on the back of her recent stunning editorial turn for Dutch Harper's Bazaar.
