Top Ten Newcomers FW16 - Charlee Fraser

Everyone loves an overnight success story but for IMA there's nothing more gratifying than witnessing the industry's embrace of a model who has done the hard yards and earned her place on the runways with the most clout. IMA first crossed paths with Indigenous Australian model Charlee Fraser during the Spring/Summer 2014 season at castings for Natalie Joos over two and a half years ago. The newcomer's natural beauty, chestnut shoulder length hair and puppy dog brown eyes were a standout amidst the sea of model hopefuls and IMA was delighted to be able to shoot the breeze with a fellow Antipodean. Fraser's moment in the spotlight has been a slow burn with the twenty-one year old reemerging at the Fall/Winter 2016 shows as a Semi-exclusive for Alexander Wang amidst a flurry of excitement following a feature on vogue.com as one of the season's key faces to watch out for. Perhaps more riveting is the physical transformation that has taken place with Fraser sporting an ultra chic nape grazing Louise Brooks bob and the type of bullet proof confidence normally reserved for seasoned veterans. Fraser's key runway slots at Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam, Rodarte, Preen, Mulberry, Prada, Tod's, Missoni, Alberta Ferretti, Fausto Puglisi, Blumarine, Francesco Scognimiglio, and Marni have been a long time coming.
