Top Ten Newcomers FW16 - Austria Ulloa

Dominican native Austria Ulloa's backstory is the stuff made of modelling fairytales. Discovered at the age of fifteen via the Ford Supermodel of the World competition in 2008, Ulloa was signed swiftly by IMG Model Management and launched onto the international modelling stage via a web based reality series called Model Live produced in partnership with Vogue.tv. Model Live chronicled the experiences of three aspiring models as they embarked on their modelling careers during Fashion Week. Following initial promising turns on the runway at Philosophy and DKNY during her debut season, interest in Ulloa failed to gain momentum and the San Juan beauty found herself relegated to the modelling's commercial realm. Recently a change of management to Request Models has signalled a definitive shift in Ulloa's modelling options with the twenty-three year old reemerging at Miu Miu's Pre-Fall 2016 show displaying a worldly sophistication and confidence that comes with life experience. Ulloa's super sleek 5 foot 10 frame and exotic beauty are suddenly in vogue at the Fall/Winter 2016 with blue chip bookings for Calvin Klein, Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, Ohne Titel, J. Mendel, Antonio Berardi, Peter Pilotto, Emilio Pucci, Marni, and Dolce & Gabbana. Watch for Ulloa to hit full stride at the Paris shows with her compelling Latin beauty and high fashion moxie.
