Catching the Light - Frida Westerlund

IMA taps Swedish newcomer Frida Westerlund for its latest casting for L'Officiel Malaysia's August 2016 Art & Design issue. London based photographer Stefan Khoo captures nineteen year old Westerlund in London styled by Fashion Editor Monica Mong in the art inspired collections of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Givenchy, and Dries Van Noten. Westerlund's snap-challenging death stare, chiselled jawline, and tempestuous pout are framed by a cascading moppet top of blonde curls lending her a model as muse look from an era long gone by. The IMG Model Management-repped ingenue has been kept tightly under wraps since her Fall/Winer 2013 debut opening at Balenciaga. Proving that timing is everything, Westerlund re-emerged at the Spring/Summer 2016 collections walking for Alexander Wang and opening and closing at Calvin Klein. Westerlund clearly made an impression on designer Francisco Costa landing a plum spot in Calvin Klein's Spring/Summer 2016 campaign.   Westerlund continues to build momentum while expanding her modelling repertoire with star turning editorial appearances in German Vogue, Twin, Vogue Italia, Heroine, Office, and French Revue de Modes. With the Spring/Summer 2017 season beckoning, watch for Westerlund's brooding beauty to be omnipresent come September.
